If you want a place where you can do it all this is the place for you. I loved it! (I am not associated with Xcaret or anyone else that has business contact with this place...these are just my own personal opinions). We snorkeled in underground rivers and in the lagoons of Xcaret. It's best to plan on making this place an all day adventure. We were overwhelmed with the beauty and how nice people were to us while visiting the eco-archaeological park. It's like no other place I have ever been too. You have to go here if your in the area without a doubt. The restaurants were great and if you wanted something cooked special all you needed to do was ask. This is great if you have children who are picky and do not want anything other than chicken, hamburgers and french fries. Swimming with the dolphins, horseback riding, exploring the underground rivers, viewing the many amazing aquariums full of tropical sea life, the list goes on and on and on. There is an entrance fee of around $35US dollars per person.
While we were there we snorkeled the underground rivers and seen many fish. Snorkel equipment can be rented for a small fee and you get to keep the snorkel. All of the snorkels are brand new for your safety. We were also given life vest to wear, they were required while snorkeling the underground rivers. My seven year old daughter Kristin enjoyed the snorkeling too. We snorkeled under water falls and even into underground caves. We also snorkeled through a Mayan village that is part of Xcaret. Make sure you take a good pair of walking shoes so when you are done snorkeling you will be able to walk in comfort. While you are snorkeling a storage bag with a lock on it is supplied to you at no extra charge to keep your dry clothes and valuables in it. You are given a key on a heavy string to either wear around your neck or you can pin it onto your swimming gear. The temp of the water isn't all that bad either...jumping into the water is the best way to get use to it.
These two people below are entertainers who walk around during the daytime hours to let you know about the fantastic shows that are seen in the theater at night. The night shows are what made our stay even more unforgettable. It's a must to see the night shows that are going on in different parts of the park during the night. I've missed the jungle night show but I did get a chance to see the night show at the natural cenote theater. This theater has one of the underground rivers flow right through it. Many beautiful costumes and Mexican dresses were worn. Make sure you have a good camera for this show that is able to take close-ups and can take good night photos. I regretted that I didn't have my good camera with me at the time.

Something for everyone! This full day tour is bursting with interesting and fun activities. Once an ancient ceremonial place, today Xcaret is a spectacular eco-archaeological park. Check out the botanical garden, aviary, aquarium, and butterfly farm. There is also an inlet for snorkeling, a lagoon for swimming and a beach for relaxing. | |
